Resolutions : 2018

By the end of 2018 like the previous year (2017) I personally established a list of resolutions focusing on the goal achievement which will enhance my quality of life and new learnings.

2018 – New Year Resolutions

01. Pass ICASL : Executive level (March 2018 / September 2018) - 30%  ->  Not achieved.

      (01.01) Management Accounting
      (01.02) PCA

02. Painting (3D, 2D and Abstract) 12 artworks per month [Practice] - 05% - > Not Achieved.

03. Self-studies ( ICASL and other study texts) - 20% -> Marginally Achieved. (02%)

      03.01. LKAS
      03.02. SLAuS

04. Finish E-Soft graphic design class [During the year 2018] - 10% - > Not Achieved.

05. Study the capital markets [CSE.lk / Etrade.lk] - 10% -> Marginally Achieved. (02%)

06. Completion of USA: 1st and 2nd Phase [Blog based] - 05% -> Marginally Achieved. (01%)

07. Practice and participate in marathons. [April 2018 / RFTL 2018]- 05% -> Not Achieved.

08. Blog posts -> PW/Mylifeasaprof./Lifer/BS/Booker - 05%  [Monthly/Weekly] -> Marginally Achieved. (02%)

09. Yuthukamaka Mehewara 2018' -> Book and stationary donations [During the year] -> 05% Achieved

10. Digital Photography with a proper technicality (Training and practice) - 12 photographs per month. -> 05% Achieved.

During the previous year (2017) I was able to set 10 resolutions for the current year (2018).

Like the previous year, I couldn't get through ICASL: Executive level. It was due to my personal decision of changing my academic mind into focus and precision giving a high weight into my personal but non-academic objective attainment.

Thereby I was able to lose 30% success rate of my resolutions for 2018.

Though I did 3 jobs, at an audit firm [KPMG Sri Lanka (January 2018 to March 2018)], DIMO PLC [1 week (April 2018)] and Sampath Bank PLC: Wattala Branch [September 2018 to October 2018] which was tough and was extremely ridiculed by my senior staff, the survival by conducting the work even at an average pace and with an acceptable accuracy was commendable in my opinion.

Managed to maintain my hobbies (Personal life) in an acceptable manner like the previous year (2017) which impacted negatively to me during the current year (2018) to achieve professional and academic life goals and objectives.

I was a vegetarian from March 3rd week to September 3rd week in 2018 for 'personal', 'spiritual' and 'religious' reasons.

I traveled to India as a Buddhist pilgrim in the month of August 17th to 26th, 2018 with my family.

Religious and good habits were also established during the year (2018).

Overall the objective of having resolutions for a year is to have a good life.

And it was not a good year (2018) for me.

Hoping to go forward in 2019 better than in 2018.

Considering the given weights for the resolutions and achievements during the year 2018, 17% was gained.

The main reason for the lack of objective attainment is the lack of focus in academic life and professional life.

And also too much weight on non-academic objective attainment.
