"ද නිව්ස්පේපර්" (2020) සිනමා කෘතිය කැමරාකරණය අතින් ඉතාමත් ඉදිරිගාමී ස්වභාවයක් ගනී. නමුත් සිනමා කෘතියේ ආඛ්‍යානය ඉතාමත් ව්‍යාකුලයි.

සිනමා කෘතියේ පවත්නා අතාත්වික ස්වභාවය පවා නරඹන්නාට මඟ හැරෙන්නේ සිනමා කෘතියේ පවත්නා හොඳ අරමුණු නිසාය.

සිනමා කෘතිය ශ්‍රි ලංකාවේ සමාජ ක්‍රමය තුළ පවත්නා සංකීර්ණ මෙන්ම ව්‍යාකුල ස්වභාවය ඉස්මතු කිරීම අතින් සාර්ථක වී ඇත.

"ද නිව්ස්පේපර්" සිනමා කෘතිය හොඳ අරමුණු ඇති හොඳ සිනමා කෘතියකි.

Soosthi (2020) : A visually stunning but a bit misguided film

 

Soosthi (2020) is the debut film directed by Kushan Weerarathna.

The plot of the film revolves around a girl and a boy traveling around Sri Lanka postponing their suicide for one week.

The film tries to depict the minds of modern youth and their problems fusing creativity and dialogue.

The cinematography in the film is very commendable.

But the complexity of the film is misguiding the viewers and this is a big drawback to the film.

Overall the film has both positives and negatives.

සූස්ති (2020) : සිනමාත්මක වශයෙන් සාර්ථක නමුත් තේමාව අතින් අයාලේ ගිය ස්වභාවයක් ගන්නා සිනමා කෘතියක්

 

සූස්ති (2020) යනු කුෂාන් වීරරත්නගේ පළමු සිනමා කෘතියයි.

කතාවේ වස්තු බීජය වන්නේ ගැහැණු ළමයකු සහ පිරිමි ළමයකු (තරුණියක සහ තරුණයකු) තම සියදිවි හානිකරගැනීම සතියකට කල් දමා ශ්‍රී ලංකාවෙ පුරා සතියකට සංචාරය කිරීමකි.

නව නිර්මාණාත්මක බාවයකින් මෙන්ම නව්‍ය දෙබස් හරහා නුතන තාරුණ්‍යයයේ ප්‍රශ්ණ පෙන්වා දීමට මෙම සිනමා කෘතිය සමත් වී ඇත.

මෙම සිනමා කෘතියේ කැමරාකරණය ඉතාමත් හොඳය.

නමුත් මෙම සිනමා කෘතිය පසුගාමී වන්නේ එහි පවත්නා සංකීර්ණ ස්වභාවය නිසා නරඹන්නා අයාලේ යන ස්වභාවයක් හටගන්නා බැවිනි.

සමස්තයක් ලෙස මෙම සිනමා කෘතිය තුළ ධනාත්මක මෙන්ම සෘණාත්මක සිනමා ලක්‍ෂණ පවත්නා බව පැවසිය හැක.

Dadayakkaraya / Sansare Dadayakkaraya [ Leopard Do Not Bite] (2015) - A combination of greatness and confusion

 

"Leopard Do Not Bite" (2015) is a film I watched in 2019 in the cinema hall.

The film is loosely based on a novel by Simon Nawagaththegama, a renowned literary figure in Sri Lanka.

Though not exposed to the novel I enjoyed the film due to its combination of greatness and confusion.

The film had magnificent visuals through grand cinematographic excellence and also had a very confusing narrative style.

දඩයක්කාරයා / සංසාරේ දඩයක්කාරයා (2015) - ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨත්වය සහ ව්‍යකුලත්වය අතර සම්මිශ්‍රණයක්.....

 

දඩයක්කාරයා / සංසාරේ දඩයක්කාරයා (2015) සිනමා කෘතිය මා නැරඹුවේ 2019 දී සිනමා ශාලාවේදීය.

මෙම සිනමා කෘතිය නිර්මාණය කර ඇත්තේ සයිමන් නවගත්තේගම නම් ප්‍රකට සාහිත්‍යකරුවාගේ නවකතාවක් ඇසුරෙනි.

නවකතාව කියවා නොතිබුණද සිනමා කෘතිය වින්දනය කිරීමට හැකි වුයේ එහි පැවැති ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨත්වයේ සහ සංකීර්ණත්වයේ සම්මිශ්‍රණය නිසාය.

සිනමා කෘතිය තුළ දැවැන්ත මෙන්ම ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨ කැමරාකරණයක් තිබුණු අතර ව්‍යාකුල සිනමා අඛ්‍යනයක් පැවතිනි.

Paangshu ( Earth ) (2020) - A walk down the memory lane of the hidden past of Sri Lanka

 

I was able to watch 'Paangshu' (Earth) [2020] in the cinema on the 29th of August, 2020.

The film is a reminder to the viewers on how to make a good film.

With great dialogue, cinematography, and acting this film becomes a milestone in Sri Lankan filmmaking.

මා හට පාංශු (2020) සිනමා ශාලාවේ අගෝස්තු 29 වෙනි දින, 2020 නැරඹීමට හැකිවිය.

මෙම සිනමා කෘතිය නරඹන්නාට සිහි කරන්නේ හොඳ සිනමා කෘතියක් බිහිවිය යුතු ආකාරයයි.

ඉතාම සාර්ථකව නිර්මාණය කරන ලද දෙබස්, කැමරාකරණය සහ රංගනය හරහා මෙම සිනමා කෘතිය ශ්‍රී ලාංකීය සිනමකරණයේ සංදිස්ථානයක් නිර්මාණය කරයි.
